CVE-2024-22401Network attack vector

Unauthorized app access via unrestricted allowlist reset

Published Jan 18, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Authorization bypass in Nextcloud Guests app 2.4.0, 2.5.0, and 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to access disallowed apps. The allowlist-reset action accepts requests from nonadministrators and replaces the configured app list without enforcing administrator permissions. A low-privileged account and another user's interaction are required; the bounded consequence is access to apps excluded for guests.
