MFA reassignment via cross-account association
Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Improper authentication in the SonicWall SMA 100 Virtual Office portal before 10.2.1.11-65sv allows remote authenticated users to rebind MFA. SonicWall has not disclosed the request handler or missing authorization check; the portal accepts an MFA app association for another user's account. A valid portal account and specific, undisclosed conditions are required; successful exploitation gives the attacker control of the victim's second-factor association.
