CVE-2024-22389Network attack vector

Administrative access via unsynchronized REST token update

Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in F5 BIG-IP allows remote authenticated users to retain peer access with an outdated iControl REST token. When a token is updated on one member of an HA pair, BIG-IP fails to synchronize that update to its peer, which continues accepting the prior token. Exploitation requires high-privileged credentials and management-network access and grants continued administrative control of the peer.
