CVE-2024-22383

Persistent reader denial of service via resource leak

Published Mar 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Resource exhaustion in Gallagher Security Controller 7000 firmware allows physically proximate attackers to persistently disable T-Series readers. The controller fails to release a resource after its effective lifetime while processing hostile RS-485 traffic, leaving connected HBUS readers unable to recover automatically. Exploitation requires access to HBUS cabling, and the resulting availability loss persists rather than resolving automatically.
