Authenticated service interruption via crafted columnar query
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Improper input validation in IBM Db2 11.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service with a crafted columnar-table query. IBM identifies the locus only as query processing for certain columnar tables and does not disclose the rejected input, affected operation, or replication steps. A valid low-privilege database session is required, and successful exploitation interrupts database availability by an undisclosed failure mode without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
