XXE in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 and Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 24.0.0.5 allows remote attackers to expose data. IBM has not identified the affected XML parser, component, or endpoint, but reports that XML processing accepts external entity references. No authentication or user interaction is required, but attack complexity is high; resolution can read server-accessible data, trigger outbound requests, or consume memory.
