Account compromise via weak default password policy
Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 24, 2025
Weak password requirements in IBM Security Verify Governance 10.0.2 allow remote attackers to compromise user accounts. The default Identity Manager password-policy configuration does not enforce strong passwords, allowing users to select credentials that are easier to guess. Network access to the login interface and a guessable account password are required; successful guessing exposes data available to that account.
