Anonymous LDAP connection via empty-password bind
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Improper authentication in IBM DS8900F HMC microcode allows remote attackers to establish an anonymous LDAP connection. The DSCLI LDAP client submits a valid username with an empty password, and an LDAP server permitting unauthenticated bind accepts the request as anonymous instead of rejecting it. Exploitation requires user interaction and an HMC configured for such a server; the resulting session is limited to permissions granted to anonymous LDAP clients.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
