Unauthenticated code execution via About API JNDI lookup
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
JNDI injection in IBM Operational Decision Manager allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the About REST API. The unauthenticated API passes its datasource parameter unchecked to InitialContext.lookup(), causing the server to resolve an attacker-controlled LDAP URI and deserialize the returned Java object. No account or user interaction is required, but exploitation requires an attacker-controlled LDAP service and a compatible serialized-object chain; successful exploitation runs code in the server process.
