CVE-2024-22259Network attack vector

SSRF or open redirect via host misparsing

Published Mar 16, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

URL parsing in Spring Framework 5.3.32 and earlier, 6.0.0 through 6.0.17, and 6.1.0 through 6.1.4 allows attackers to cause SSRF or open redirects. UriComponentsBuilder's URI regex misparses authority strings containing bracket and user-information delimiters, so host validation can inspect a different host than the URL consumer uses. Exploitation requires an application to parse an externally supplied URL, validate the parsed host, and then use that URL, enabling requests or redirects to an unintended host.
