CVE-2024-22243Network attack vector

SSRF or open redirect via inconsistent URL parsing

Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

SSRF and open redirect flaws in Spring Framework allow remote attackers to redirect users or send server-side requests through crafted URLs. UriComponentsBuilder's USERINFO_PATTERN parses crafted user-information text inconsistently with RFC 3986, so host validation can approve a different host from later URL use. Exposure requires an application to parse an externally supplied URL, validate its parsed host, and then use that URL; impact is bounded by its redirect or outbound-request behavior.
