CVE-2024-22224

Root command execution via svc_nas injection

Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated May 7, 2025

OS command injection in Dell Unity before 5.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. The svc_nas utility fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in attacker-controlled input, although Dell does not identify the affected argument or command-building path. Access requires an authenticated Unity account and local entry to the restricted service shell; successful exploitation escapes that shell.
