Authenticated command execution via writable terminal start command
Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Command injection in 0xJacky Nginx UI before 2.0.0.beta.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary system commands. SaveSettings accepts the protected start_cmd value from an API request, and NewPipeLine passes the stored value directly to exec.Command when a web terminal opens. Any authenticated user or holder of the configured node secret can replace the terminal command and execute it with the Nginx UI process privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
