CVE-2024-22195Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via space-bearing xmlattr keys

Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Jinja before 3.1.3 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser via crafted xmlattr keys. The xmlattr filter escapes attribute values but accepted dictionary keys containing spaces, so a key is parsed as multiple HTML attributes despite autoescaping. Exploitation requires an application to accept attacker-controlled keys and render the result in a page viewed by another user.
