Untrusted search path handling in GitPython before 3.1.41 allows attackers to execute code through a malicious Windows repository. The Git command launcher and hook runner omit NoDefaultCurrentDirectoryInExePath when a shell or bash.exe is started, so Windows searches the repository working tree first. Exploitation requires an application to enable shell execution or a user to run a hook after opening attacker-controlled repository content.
