Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped settings
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in LuckyWP Table of Contents 2.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through plugin settings. The general-settings handler stores the Title, Label Show, and Label Hide values without sanitizing them, and the plugin later renders those values into table-of-contents markup without safe output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, unfiltered_html can be disabled, and viewing a page containing the affected block runs the stored script in the visitor's browser under the site's origin.
