CVE-2024-22178Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file overwrite via unconstrained configuration path

Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

External path control in Open Automation Software OAS Platform 19.00.0057 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files. Save Security Configuration accepts an absolute path from the String field of an authenticated String_With_Auth protobuf and writes configuration data there without constraining the destination. Valid OAS credentials and the service account's filesystem permissions bound the impact; crafted configuration data can replace authorized_keys and grant host access.
