CVE-2024-22167

Local code execution via uncontrolled DLL search

Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

DLL hijacking in SanDisk PrivateAccess before 6.4.10 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a copied or accessible vault. The application uses an uncontrolled DLL search path that can select an attacker-planted library; Western Digital has not named the executable, DLL, or lookup sequence. Exploitation requires access to a copy of the vault or prior system access and user interaction; execution remains confined to that system and its system-user context.
