Authenticated service interruption via malformed Investigation creation

Improper input validation in Splunk Enterprise Security before 7.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to disable the Investigations manager. Investigation creation accepts malformed content that blocks generation and rendering of the manager; Splunk has not disclosed the malformed field or internal operation. An authenticated session with permission to create Investigations is required, and the service interruption persists until the malformed Investigation is deleted.
