Contributor-level stored XSS via unsafe shortcode attributes
Published Jan 31, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Magazine3 Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP 1.25 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcodes. The plugin's shortcode handlers accept user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization and emit them without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the injected JavaScript runs when another user opens the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
