CVE-2024-22145Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked option writes

Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Incorrect privilege assignment in InstaWP Connect 0.1.0.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator privileges. The save_management_settings function accepts option changes without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities, permitting arbitrary site-option writes. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation enables full control of the affected WordPress site.
