Administrator takeover via unparameterized SQL update
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Jun 5, 2025
SQL injection in GTB Central Console 15.17.1-30814.NG allows remote attackers to reset the Administrator password via /ccapi.php. The setTermsHashAction method concatenates the hash and userId request values into an UPDATE statement passed to pg_query without parameterization or escaping. The endpoint is reachable before authentication; modifying the passwd column for user 1 grants Administrator access with an attacker-chosen password.
