Code execution via crafted DCM heap overflow

Heap-based buffer overflow in MicroDicom DICOM Viewer 2023.3 (Build 9342) and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DCM file. The public advisory identifies DCM file processing as the trigger but does not disclose the parser routine, malformed field, or unchecked length operation that overwrites heap memory. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file, after which code runs with that user's application privileges and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
