Elevated code execution via legacy Remote Control overflow
Published May 31, 2024 · Updated Mar 17, 2025
Buffer overflow in legacy Remote Control in Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2021.1 and earlier allows local users to execute elevated code. The disclosed mechanism is an overflow in the legacy Remote Control component, but Ivanti has not identified the input or copy operation involved. A low-privileged account on a machine with the EPM Agent is required, and successful exploitation grants elevated code execution on that host.
