Network-service crash via insufficient HMAC validation
Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens fire-system products allows remote attackers to crash the network service with crafted HMAC values. The shared network communication library fails to validate HMAC values before reading a buffer, so malformed authentication data triggers an overread. Access to the fire protection system network is required; engineering tools and Sinteso Mobile additionally require an on-path position, and the consequence is limited to the affected service, tool, or app.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
