Root command execution via unsigned RPM installation
Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Ivanti Endpoint Manager Mobile before 12.1.0.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The restricted CLI's install rpm url command downloads a user-supplied RPM and invokes rpm without validating its signature, causing package scripts to run as root. An authenticated appliance CLI session is required, and successful exploitation grants full control of the appliance.
