Temporary denial of service via XML expansion
Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
XML entity expansion in Ivanti Connect Secure 9.x and 22.x and Policy Secure SAML allows remote attackers to cause a service interrupt. The SAML XML parser recursively expands entity references from a crafted request until CPU or memory resources are exhausted. No authentication or user interaction is required; the resulting denial of service is temporary and limited to availability.
