CVE-2024-21972Public exploit

Local code execution via shader-controlled array index

Published Apr 23, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in AMD Software: Adrenalin and PRO Edition drivers allows local users to execute code via a malformed DirectX 11 shader. In atidxx64.dll shader processing, an array index is read directly from attacker-supplied bytecode and later used to calculate a write address without a bounds check. Low-privilege local access and an affected AMD graphics configuration are required; the controlled write corrupts driver-process memory and can execute code in that context.
