Privilege escalation via permissive installation directory ACLs
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 13, 2024
Incorrect default permissions in AMD Ryzen Master before 2.13.1.3097 allow local users to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code. The installation folders and their subfolders and files receive improperly configured ACLs, exposing protected program content to lower-privileged users. A low-privileged local account and user interaction are required; successful exploitation executes code with elevated privileges.
