CVE-2024-21925

SMM code execution via insufficient buffer validation

Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Jun 27, 2025

Improper input validation in the AmdPspP2CmboxV2 UEFI module allows local users to overwrite SMRAM and execute code in SMM. The module fails to validate one or more input buffers before an SMM operation, permitting attacker-controlled data to overwrite protected SMRAM. Ring-0 privileges are required, and successful exploitation crosses into highly privileged System Management Mode.
