CVE-2024-21923

Local privilege escalation via incorrect default permissions

Published Nov 23, 2025 · Updated Nov 24, 2025

Incorrect default permissions in AMD StoreMI allow local users to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code through a local attack. AMD has not identified the affected file, directory, registry key, or search path, or described how its default access controls are misapplied. Exploitation requires existing low privileges and user interaction on a supported Windows PC; successful abuse runs attacker-controlled code with elevated rights.
