CVE-2024-21916Network attack vector

Unauthenticated controller restart

Published Jan 31, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Denial of service in Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and GuardLogix 5570 firmware allows remote attackers to restart controllers. Rockwell Automation has not disclosed the affected firmware component, the triggering input, or the specific out-of-bounds operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation interrupts controller operation through a restart rather than corrupting firmware.
