Unauthenticated terminal restart via unprotected remote action
Published Mar 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition before 14 allows remote attackers to restart PanelView Plus 7 terminals. The terminal accepts a remote restart action without security protections, allowing an unauthenticated request to invoke the reboot operation. Network reachability is sufficient, and a successful restart interrupts the operator's view or control of the HMI until the terminal recovers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
