Code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 16.00 through 16.20.02 allows attackers to execute code via a malicious file. Rockwell Automation has not identified the affected file parser or disclosed how crafted file content causes the out-of-bounds heap write. Exploitation requires a user to open the attacker-supplied file, after which code runs in the application user's context and the application can crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
