Code execution via crafted-file out-of-bounds write
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 16.00 through 16.20.02 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted file. When Arena processes the file, it writes beyond a designated memory area, triggers an access violation, and permits attacker-controlled code to run. Execution requires a user to open the attacker-supplied file, after which code runs in the Arena process and can compromise data or interrupt the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
