Authenticated code execution via configuration archive traversal
Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Path traversal in Rapid Software LLC Rapid SCADA 5.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted archive. The configuration-unpacking routine accepts archive entries with traversal paths and writes them outside the intended project directory. Low-privileged network access to the configuration interface is required, and successful exploitation places attacker-controlled files where Rapid SCADA executes code.
