CVE-2024-21850

Privilege escalation via uncleared resource reuse

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Resource-reuse exposure in Intel TDX SEAMLDR before 1.5.02.00 allows local privileged users to escalate privileges. The SEAMLDR module returns a resource to reuse without clearing sensitive information, but Intel has not identified the resource or code path. Exploitation requires high local privileges on a 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable host and can compromise confidentiality and integrity without interrupting service.
