CVE-2024-21832Network attack vector

Authenticated code injection via JSON variable expansion

Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Code injection in affected PingFederate releases allows remote authenticated users to alter outbound REST data-store requests. A POST-based REST data store expands variable references inside an administrator-defined JSON request body without safely isolating substituted values from JSON syntax. Exploitation requires a POST/JSON data store whose request body contains variable references; the published impact is limited to downstream request integrity.
