CVE-2024-21810

Local privilege escalation via undisclosed input validation

Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024

Improper input validation in Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack before 28.3 allows local users to escalate privileges on Linux. The Intel 800 Series kernel-mode driver accepts insufficiently validated input, but Intel has not disclosed the input source, code locus, or erroneous operation. Exploitation requires local authenticated low-privilege access and can cross a security boundary to compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
