Local file disclosure via external XML entities
Published Jan 24, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
XXE in MLIT Electronic Delivery Check and Inspection systems through affected releases allows attackers to read local files. The applications process crafted XML with external-entity resolution left insufficiently restricted, causing the XML parser to load attacker-referenced local file content. Exploitation requires a local user to open the crafted file, and the documented consequence is file disclosure without modification or service interruption.
