CVE-2024-21753Network attack vector

File access and service crash via path traversal

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Path traversal in Fortinet FortiClient EMS allows remote authenticated users to read or write limited files or crash the service. The administrative HTTP request handler fails to keep attacker-controlled pathnames within a restricted directory; Fortinet has not identified the affected endpoint or file operation. Administrative privileges and network access to EMS are required, and the exposed effect is limited file access or a service interruption.
