Presentation replay via ignored proof verification
Published Jan 11, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Improper proof verification in Aries Cloud Agent Python allows remote authenticated users to accept invalid W3C JSON-LD LDP presentations. The _verify_presentation function considers credential results but omits presentation_result.verified from its final Boolean, so a challenge mismatch still yields verified=true. Reachability requires Linked Data Proof presentation processing; accepted invalid proofs permit presentation replay and impersonation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
