Flask secret disclosure via unrestricted template rendering
Published Jan 8, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Improper access control in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev77 allows remote attackers to read Flask configuration via an unauthenticated URL. The unrestricted /render/path:filename route renders info.html without the normal info handler, leaving Flask's global config object bound to the template's config variable. Network access to the web interface is sufficient, and the response discloses SECRET_KEY and other configuration data without changing service state.
