CVE-2024-21526Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via asserted channels type conversion

Published Jul 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Denial of service in TooTallNate speaker 0.5.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the hosting Node.js process via crafted channels input. The native speaker_open binding passes channels to napi_get_value_int32 and asserts that conversion succeeds instead of rejecting a nonnumeric type. Reachability depends on a consuming application passing attacker-controlled constructor options; a successful trigger aborts that application's process without reading or changing data.
