Phishing via unvalidated login redirect destination
Published Feb 17, 2024 · Updated Mar 3, 2026
Open redirect in Greenpau Caddy Security before 1.1.36 allows remote attackers to send users to external sites via crafted redirect_url values. The authentication portal accepts redirect_url as a login destination and redirects to it without restricting the destination to the same domain or a trusted source. No prior attacker access is required, but a logged-in user must follow the crafted link and click a portal button or use the browser's back button, enabling phishing.
