Service crash via unchecked parser input
Published Feb 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Array-index validation failure in Greenpau Caddy Security 1.1.23 and earlier allows attackers to crash Caddy via a malformed Caddyfile. Multiple Caddyfile parsing functions access array elements without first checking whether their input values are nil, triggering an index-out-of-range panic. Exploitation requires influence over the configuration supplied to the parser; the documented consequence is a configuration-time crash, not data disclosure or modification.
