CVE-2024-21452Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service interruption via malformed ASN.1 decoding

Published Apr 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Improper input validation in Qualcomm Snapdragon automotive firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted ASN.1 OER message. The decoder mishandles a SEQUENCE containing unknown extensions during ASN.1 Octet Encoding Rules processing, causing a transient denial of service. No authentication or user interaction is required, and Qualcomm has not disclosed whether the interruption is a crash, hang, or restart.
