CVE-2024-21445

Privilege escalation via USB print-driver double free

Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025

Double free in the Microsoft Windows USB Print Driver allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on affected Windows builds. The driver frees the same memory allocation twice during undisclosed USB printing operations, but Microsoft has not identified the affected routine or attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and high-complexity conditions; success grants elevated control over system data and operation.
