Remote code execution via numeric truncation
Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025
Remote code execution in Microsoft ODBC Driver on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious SQL server. The driver truncates a numeric value while processing a crafted database-server response, corrupting memory used by the SQL client. Exploitation requires an authenticated victim to connect the client to an attacker-controlled SQL database and runs code in that client's security context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
