Local privilege escalation via use-after-free
Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025
Use-after-free in the Windows Graphics Component allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on affected Windows systems. Microsoft identifies reuse of freed memory but has not disclosed the affected graphics function, object-lifetime error, or triggering input. Successful exploitation requires local access and existing low privileges and grants control with elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
